Montgomery

About
Zoë Montgomery is a Canadian artist based in Brighton. As an artist with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) working in analog photographic media, Zoë's practice leans into concepts of creating ‘careless mistakes’ in the darkroom (as disposition to inattention is medically defined under ADHD’s criteria.) Experimental irony in their process works to recontextualize how clinical language impacts neurodivergent identities; meditating on diverse, cerebral experiences with the aim of encouraging viewers to reconsider biases held in relation to medical “truth” under the broader umbrella of psychological study.
